Lots of useful info there. All my lower gear hull, wheels ect are metal Asiatam on the tiger. I have the metal gearbox and motors that came with the tank but maybe could do with upgrading. Have not tried driving it up a hill. I was having some trouble driving on grass. Seems to prefer dirt. I mist try to find out which motors I have installed. If I post some photos of my interior you may know and maybe recommend an upgrade. My tiger weighs in at 6.2 kg that's about 14 lbs.

I will be happy to take a look,the drive package I put together was based on advice from Steve@ Welshdragon as the Asiatam Hull was not available in the US at the time I purchased the package from Steve but the other thing I did was mount the RX18 on aluminum stand off nuts 5mm high with a Fan cooled unit from Bill@rccommand and then added a larger fan under the unit to keep things cooled. This allows me to use the Gruapner speed 400 which are not to powerful but do have alot of torque with 12tooth pinion gear.

If you look in the download section their is a great gearbox calculator that will figure speed, and gear ratio's based on motor gearbox combo's. It's a very good spread sheet type program that allow the user to input different components and see the spec's. The two links below are from my Tiger Build, the second link has a picture of my drive components laid out prior to install.

One other thing I did was tap the control arms first to 6-32 standard thread,then when I acquired my early road wheels I tapped the control arms to 3.5mm and used DURRO shoulder bolts as axles,screwed in then locked with the grub screw. I have never had a track problem or a wobbled wheel issue,it is solid and very strong as the wheels are tight against the arms with a plastic washer between the wheels and control arms. The wheels also have a bushing in the hubs that is very tight on the shoulder bolts, again no slack. CHEERS Saxondog

John, here in Tennessee we have Hobby Lobby International shop, really more about cars,planes and boats. But they carry all the Gruapner motors,pinion gears in many sizes both with or without the grub screws and fusible links for your control leads to the motors. I'm not sure where you are but I could post them over if need be,the motor are on sale for 7.99us and I am already putting together an order for me and Dietrich and adding two more motors and pinions would not effect the shipping which is small since I live in state. Now the shipping to you might be a little more. check out the two links, I'm certainly not trying to undercut guy's like Dave(forgebear) it's just that we have an order already started and could add to it without effecting our cost.

I also think Dave has the same tracks at just as good a price, FORGEBEAR on the advert banner cheers Blake

I have my metal tracks and wheels sorted . As far as I know my motors and gearbox are the ones in the welsh dragons link. They probably are ok. I might try adding some weight and do some gradient tests. Got the weld lines finished on my panzer 111 and am now making up some tools and other fittings. I want to see if I can get some etch primer for the metal parts. I will post some photos later. It's going to be a tight squeeze getting everything into the small tub.
Do you bother with the smoke generator. I'm thinking of taking it out as there is not a lot coming from it. Drilled out ports and made sure no blockages but smoke still very light.

The smoker is junk, noisy and very poor output. I have the Super Smoker unit in all my tanks,works very well output controlled by engine speed and very quiet. Dave Forgebear can get these units in the UK, or Bill @ rccommand has them state side.

That smoker is the business. Will get a couple of them. Thanks for that. Been working this evening on stripping all the metal parts off and painting with etch primer. Realy strong stuff but should give a nice tough primer to the metal.

Your welcome John, we are going to market a 1/2 scale unit due out soon. I will keep you informed these units will last a very long time and are easy to maintain, also the fluid is not the cheap oil but fogger fluid similar to stage fogger fluid leaving no residue.

Good luck,the etching primer is worth the effort,my Tiger sprockets were primed with the Tamiya brand and have not chipped. They have been through mud,sand,rocks and just water but the primer is key. Sax

Thanks for the info. Sent a pm to Forgebear.Sw your bikes earlier. I have no photos at the moment. Have a CBR 929 in Ireland and an SP2 that lives in France and hardly got out on either this year.

John.

Hi John, the Black Kawasaki is a 1984 GPZ750 TURBO with the first generation Mikuni DFI Injection,this bike was the bad boy in the day. I purchased it in June of 1984@ age 20. After some street time I raced two season's in the WERA circuit which was alot of fun, attended Super Bike School in 1986 in Daytona Beach Florida, that was a humbling experience as we thought we were good, but learned we really did not know that much about racing, just riding.
http://www.750turbo.com/fastones.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; This link is to the owners group site,it is UK based but all world owners can be a member. The current records are listed both in 1/4 mile and Top Mph. A guy in the UK named Lorcan Parnell set the record @ THE LAND SPEED RECORD TRACK in Salt Lake Utah @ 211.00 MPH now that is not to bad for a 1984 Kawasaki. Also the bike preview video link is attached.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Adxw042dgBA" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
