Painting has raced ahead. Sorry I did'nt take photos from highlighted base coat to camo patern to applying paint chips, rust and weathering but I will start photos again soon. Got carried away. Was not too happy with camo patern bu weathering has toned it down. Not going crazy with battle damage.
Ordered my upgrade parts this evening so now broke. Getting elmod drive drive and sound. Ordered spare metal wheels and track links. Also fitting metal cupola and hatches as my plastic one took a tumble and hatch hinges broken. Gravity made the decision on this upgrade. Fitting Asiatam recoil as could not find anything else available. The recoul fitted to my Tiger works OK so it will do the job here. I want to upgrade smoke unit to super smoker which seems to work realy well according to posting from Saxondog but have not been able to source these units so far. I would also like to fit side armour plates and turret girdle but am still researching these. Looking for pictures of mounts. I would like to make my own. It may be my own interpretation of mounts rather than accurate representations.

No. 1, If you do not vave etch primer , get some. This primer contains an acid which bonds the primer to the upper molecules of metal. Spray all your metal parts with this. I even painted the inside of my Asiatam hull with this. Give it over night to dry.
No. 2,Prime erery thing with red primer.
No.3, I use an airbrush. I basecoated with Valego German camo orange ocre 70824 or valego model air ochre 71033.
You could skip if you want.
No. 4, Paint with Valego dark yellow 70978 or model air71025. Left ocre showing in recessed areas and weld lines.
No. 5. I made up a highlight colour of Valego pale sand 70837 and Dark yellow. Apply to panels. Centre of panels outwards.
No. 6,For camo green I made up a mix of german camo medium green and reflective green but I have found Valego olive grey 70888 which is green not grey works well. Use well thinned and build up to the shade you want.
No 7, Apply paint chips if you want. Up to you. Some people prefer pristine. The tank can get its chips through wear and tear.
No. 8, Apply Rust if you like. I used a combination of pastels and airbrushing. Vallego model air rust 71080 works well.
No. 9 Some drybrushing with the lighter colours.
No. 10 I airbrushed the lower section with Gamesworkshop graveyard earth. very well thinned.
Hope this helps.

Hi, the miniatures are my 1/100 scale panzer co. Quite a big army. You cannot even see the grenadier companies in the photo or the fallschirmjager companies. I put some pictures in the post area for static models.

Still a lot of work to do on my panzer 111. Waiting on my order from rctank.de
Making up some parts also. No electronics in yet as I got this tank as a kit direct from Asiatam with lots of useful upgrades rather than parts I don't want.

Got some electronics fitted.

First impression, Should have got another tiger.

RECOIL DOES NOT WORK, PROBABLY MY FAULT AS I'M USING A CONVERTED TIGER RECOIL.
GUN DRILLED OUT BUT FLASH ONLY FITS HALFWAY THROUGH TUBE. MY FAULT. GOT WRONG GUN.
NO ROOM FOR DECENT SPEAKER. WILL TRY A FEW.
WHERE TO FIT ON/OFF SWITCH?
OVERALL, SHOULD HAVE GOT ANOTHER TIGER.

PLUS POINT. FITTED THE CORRECT FOLDING AERIAL. WORKS WELL.
MAYBE CORRECT SOUNDS PROGRAMMED INTO ELMOD WILL IMPROVE IT. RUNNING WITH TIGER SOUNDS AT PRESENT.
TOMORROW IS ANOTHER DAY.
WILL POST SOME PHOTOS AT THE WEEKEND.

I love the color of your tracks and exhaust! What colors did you use for them and how did you get that rust effect on the muffler? I'd love to implement those techniques on my Tiger I

The exhaust really came out well. Painted an overall rust colour then used pastels, first dark brown with a little rust added but to apply the pastel, I used one of the famous weathering pastes.the one I used was the light grey. Coloured the past with the pastels then just apply with an old brush. Then made up another past mix in rust pastel and grey paste mix. Airbrushed the blackened areas. I had some of the tamiya weathering powders also so drybrushed with some of the rust from this. The texture from the tamiya past is really good and dries hard and holds the pigments. They sell this in lots of colours but the light grey can be tinted with any pastel. I also used this stuff around the mudguards as mud splatters. The tracks were first sprayed with etch primer. Then black primer, airbrushed with browns from very dark up to mud brownspme rust added also in patches. Also added some rust pastels and browns. Sealed over with matt primer. I have found the best mud colour to be gamesworkshop graveyard earth well thinned and applied with an airbrush.

Do you think it's maybe over weathered. I will post more pictures of the tank at the weekend. It has progressedquite a bit.
