The problem with the Tiger is that it needs all the track/wheels to be perfectly in line and everything needs to be screwed together well so there's no play in the wheels/suspension arm. Once you've got everything tightened and straightened up then you won't have any problems.
My mates had a stock non SS pantiger (same running gear as the Tiger) for 3 years and it's never thrown a track.

As was said the hl tiger 1 is around 14lbs,going back to design the germans made the tiger heavy and a bit under powered, the panther was not as heavy but it's final drive was built for a tank about the size of a panzer 3, The hl panther has overcome that. I have the hl tiger 1 with all the bells and wistles, and don't have any problems other than the battery running down than it doesn't want to turn. But thay all do that. My point is the give and take of design. The wide tracks spread weight better,but more stress.
