It is alleged that we cannot get the 250ml square bottles of Tamiya thinners because the importer will not pay for some sort of safety certificate.
It is also interesting to see what other Tamiya products are not imported to this county- If you look Tamiya, produce education kits which include gear boxes and caterpillar tracks that could be very useful to the modeler. I would advise scratch builders to check them out.
I have successfully used a gear box in a truck conversion.

However Thinners -there are currently paint shops opening all over the country that special in mixing paints to customer specs and putting these paints in aerosol cans. It is a franchise and goes by various names in different parts of the country.
I was told to go and see my local store, He sold me a 2K acrylic thinners the high grade version sells for £4.99 plus VAT a litre

I was a bit suspicious until I tried it
It does not have a strong smell. It seems to thin the paint without adding volume or watering down the pigments.
It works well through my Aztek airbrush for both large coverage and fine lines. Cleaning the nozzles and airbrush has never been easier. I have sprayed onto plastic resin brass and aluminum no problems
There is a draw back it is almost too good. You can immediately overspray new paint on just sprayed paint but if you try and overpaint after the paint after it has dried and before it has fully cured you risk washing off the first coat paint.
I have even sprayed new tamiya acrylics over fully cured Humbrol enamels without cracking.

You pays your money and takes you choice but if you can find one of these frachises give it a try.

I also have consider buying a set of Caterpiller Tracks, I have an idea of Building a R/c 1/16 Ford 3000S Maultier.
I have bought a multi ratio gearbox from a uk Evil Bay vendor and the quality is what you expect from Tamiya

I think its time to buy myself some
