Yeah. I saw this at the Washington club last night. Looks superb 'in the metal' so to speak.

Great work Brian.

I love it when someone goes to those lengths to achieve the 'perfect' effect. You really have some talent, and that is right up there with the best of the best paint jobs I have seen.

Brilliant!

Again your comments are too kind - but really it was not a lot of work that, honestly, that anyone can do. Oz and I hope to prove this on this forum with the small amount of instruction and hands on help that we hope to pass on to ALex (Panzershrek) in the coming months - watch this space!

Hi Crispy, the tracks are probably the easiest thing of all, tried and tested method on many 1/35 scale tanks. Open them up to the two separate lengths and spray with grey primer (Halfords is the best I've used), leave for 24 hours at room temperature to dry competely. Next stage is a heavy wash with burt umber oil paint, using white spirits to thin. You may want to apply 2 coats leaving over night to dry off. This gives the same effect as I've seen using vinegar on metal tracks but you'll find oil paint goes a hell of a long way - so a good investment. The final stage is humbrol aluminium paint, dry brushed onto all surfaces that face wear and road contact. The tracks on my HL are the stock tracks and are NOT metal. Have a go and let me know how you get on. My next 1/16 project will be a T34 so I'll try and post a paint log when I come to paint the tracks.

Cheers

Brian

I think the total rusting effect on this tank is some of the best I have ever seen!

Yep me too  :) Thanks for the "how too" BeeKay, I'll try this out on the Sturmtiger I'm building.

Cheers

Ok , I must have looked at these pics a hundred times. Would you like to divulge how you achieved the effects? eg base colour, washes etc? I have just stripped my Tiger down and removed nearly all of the paint, and if I could do anything remotely like this I would be well pleased!
