Thanks!

I'm planning on starting the fix up during the end of August - I need a small break from the rc tanking, well apart from the occational trip to the woods that is. And then I'll simply let the build take its time. But finally I'll post lots of pics, don't worry about that! ;) Maybe I'll also, based on some Panther G modifications that I've seen here in this forum, add armour plates for the engine air intakes and engine vents of the StuG IV / Pz IV IV? Let's see what will come out of this build.

Started out early by totally repainting my StuG IV commander, and this is the result. It's meant to be a pea pattern, but it probably looks more like the modern Bundeswehr camo. Later next week I'll repaint the PPSh41 sub-mashinegun and the headphones plus add some cables for the them as well.

I'm still working out how to use our digital camera, therefor the somewhat low pic quality.

At the end of August, I should have started with the StuG IV project.

Thanks, he still needs a bit of work, but the main paint job is already done.

This is a pic of all of the stuff that will end up on the Sturmgeschütz IV, well most of it anyway. I've bought a new headlight (for a Tamiya Pz IV J) plus two new fuel canisters from welshdragon.

Just another four weeks and the work will finally start, looking forward to the build.

My first post in this forum in a months time...! But now the StuG IV fix up finally has started.

So far I've only done some basic things: Grinded away the decals (decided to asign my StuG IV to a new unit after all...), removed the "turret rotation motor" in the rear of the tank, corrected the spare track link holder to a horisontal position, grinded away the old Heng Long head light base in order to make place for the Tamiya head light (I forgot to photograph that part of the fix up) and finally made some alterations to the outer look of the tank.

The next step of the build is to transform the old "rubber" return rollers to all steel ones, and I plan on doing that by modifying the existing ones, in order to save money.

Six more pics will follow.

Thanks Ice!

Started working on the return rollers yesterday evening and today I made some progress. They still need some work (so far I've only made one), but should end up pretty realistic when painted and so on. I don't know if it shows on the first pic, but I've grinded the sides of the return rollers to give them a more square, all metal look.

All the work was done using a grinder, but I have to find a better tool If it's to look more realistic.

Hey Jen's I don't know if you have this information, Monkey Depot sells 1/18 scale decals for many units and vehicle types and their not expensive, Here is a link http://www.monkeydepot.com/1_18_Scale_Military_s/86.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I use them on my tanks as Grossdeutschland units are not in the main stream decal sets. I am enjoying your build and their is much to be said about your skills. Thanks for posting so many pictures. Have you decided on a unit? Sax
