Oh. And one last thing. if you pop them in name order you should get an Anti-clockwise Walkthrough in places.

Thanks for the pictures Nick!Gigantohawk wrote:Rik,
All done. I'll re-send what you don't get.
With regard to the full-size tensioner. I think the "pinch bolt" idea might keep it from slipping.
Nick.

I'm maybe thinking this idea might be more trouble than its worth! lol

Cheers,
Rik

Re: Sherman idler adjustment
I had a momentary flash of inspiration.
They could be made to work using a ratchet gear. This would allow the Idlers to be adjusted, but they wouldn't rotate back.
The problem I have is finding a ratchet gear that small. Any ideas guys?
Cheers,
Rik

Re: Sherman idler adjustment
Hi Rik,
I'm glad the pic's came through ok. I hope they are a lot of use for you. In fact if you're modelling a cast hull sherman you could actually model that particular tank. The "sherman detail pics" post on the other forum will give you a bit of history on that particular tank.
The "pinch bolt" idea goes like this(It's probably is your best option for a homegrown solution). Imagine when you were a kid and you were playing about adjusting your pushbike. The clamp that holds your handlebars to the steering stem is tightened up by a "pinch bolt". The brake lever components are held firm to the handlebars by a "pinch bolt".
If you look at the deatil pic's of the idler adjuster you can see 3 small bolts that probably perform this function. I'm sure they clamp the cranked rod tight after it was rotated to tension the tracks.
Hope this helps.
Nick.

Rik my friend,
I've just emailed every pic I've ever taken of Shermans to you.
Let me know if they've come through.
Nick.
