thanks for that, might have to have a play as got a week off coming up

personally I use water soluble diamond paste for bedding my gears. It is very quick and you get a sweet polish on them so they run silky smooth. Then I lube the gears with fishing reel lube as it is great for plastic and metal and it has a lots of stick so the grease doesn't fly all over the inside of my tank.
The issue is though you can not guess at what your doing with the polishing paste, it is aggressive and will eat brass gears very very quickly
