cant argue that pic I just thuink it is a better way to fender a KT as the large fenders always fell of when running over debree and it geting traped between the fender and track

Hello Bubbajoexx, thanks for the information on the Sherman,I knew it was different but not the significance of the difference. The King Tiger your building is very interesting,I would like to see how you did the Turret Motor mod.As for Oz the man is very talented as I'm sure you know,he does seem to have a very extensive library of photos and I have never know him to be mistaken, and I was very fortunate to have his help and guidance on my first build. It's guy's like you two sharing your skills that make these forum's work, other wise what's the attraction? I am several months away from a King Tiger but the short guards I would like to duplicate, the turret mod may not work out for me as I build airsoft only.take care guy's Blake

there are stories of one tiger II being fitted with running boards instead of fenders they were supposed to mount assault infantry, apparently the vehicle bogged down and was captured by the Russians one pic is supposed to exist but no-one has ever seen it, so it'll stay just a rumour although it would make an excellent and interesting subject to model.

hey bubba are you gonna zimmerit your beast ?

oz.

That raises an interesting questions when did they stop applying Zimmerite? I have found different dates based on unit and type,do either of you know of a site where this information could be reviewed? Sax http://www.panzerworld.net/zimmerit.html

thats what makes this hobby so interesting, nothing seems to be set in stone' that way a modeler is not restrained by anything he wants to do..............oz

Checked out the site, very detailed information about how applied and why.So I have a question for you or bubba, when you guy's build a tank that will have this coating do you leave the tank in primer or base coat of gray or tan?I have not ever done this so one of my current projects Jagdpanther or Panther will have Zimmerite. Thanks Blake Oz I agree with your statement about the freedom to build a certain way because it can't be proven one way or the other, like a late model night fighter Jagdpanther, cheers
