Brilliant photo's Oz. Especially liked the Cromwells with turret stowage bins. When is someone (apart from Septon ) going to make a 1:16 RC Cromwell that we can buy?

John

U-huh... did you want to tell the boys and girls about the train layout thats in your loft or should I :/ ? Top marks though, that loft hatch is the one hole you havent fallen into for ages @) .

Anyway back on topic, thanks for the email OZ. Those pics were just what I wanted. Basic flat top rail cars with wooden planked decks. You even show how the loads were tied down. Good work that man! Shouldnt be too hard to knock up in OO or 1/72nd scale.

I've spent ages trying to source decent pics like these, thought I was going mad  . Any idea how they were loaded? Im thinking ramp with a similar wooden topped surface but would they be driven on? Some of the tanks in the pictures are overhanging both sides quite a bit! I wouldnt fancy lining those up even with my 1/16 efforts nevermind in real life.

Ill ignore all that mister

I understood that the railcar was positioned next to a loading platform on which the tanks were sat and the were simply driven on, this way there was only a drop on one side. Alternativly they were crained straight off the boat onto the railcar

the pics didn't stay on that long because my photo-bucket is almost full' i belong to several model forums and post a lot of pics, basically i don't have the space to keep them although my sister has set up another account for me so i can have more space, personally i don't like photo-bucket and find it easier to Email the pics to the person who is looking for the information.
