OOPS just read your post properly Steiner and I would agree with Sax probably a field mod based on the Panther A with the flakvierling.

Next, I wired the socket to the standard HL on / off switch.

Wires routed to charging socket / Switch, soldered and Shrink wrapped. The smoker unit has also been removed.
(CAUTION) I have read stories of Tanks batteries overheating and catching fire, whilst using an in tank charging set up. So if you replicate this mod, its done at your own risk.

Hi Steiner, Very intresting build mate well done . I have a Pz.IV to but its staying with the turret on just altering it to the Ausf.H late model , well eventually . Can I ask are you altering the rear idler as they sit to high on the HL Pz.IV .

Hi Andy,
No, I am not going to give my self a mountain of work like I did with my Tiger. The idlers will be left well alone. LOL.
What I found with my Tiger build was, the more metal upgrades the more strengthening you have to do and all that equals more weight and more stress. I test ran the Pz Iv in the summer, and due to its light weight, it maneuvered brilliantly.
(The only metal parts it has is g/boxes and suspension and they were fitted standard. )
Cheers
STEINER.

Hi Steiner , I have the same standard metal parts but I have opened the front hatches and engine hatches to fit metal opening ones . Ive got the longer barrel , metal late war style drive sprocket and idlers . I realy want metal cleated late war tracks to but Im out of work at the mo

so cant afford them even the opened pin ones are expensive , unless you know different . Your not making the AA guns Rc ie elevate using the main gun elevation unit , modded ? Either way its looking a very promising build mate keep up the good work , and the pickies
Andy

The cannons are in a fixed position Andy. To make them movable would have needed to be done when the unit was being assembled with some sort of linkage to a servo being thought out. I suppose with more thought and a lot more work this might have been feasible. If the cannons could have rotated, it could have had a battle unit installed and used in the Direct Fire Role.
May be if I convert another PZIV into an Ostewind, I might give it a go. First I have to complete this. I just wanted to do something different.
Cheers
STEINER.
