Not really. First one out gets all of the orders, hopefully the other doesn't lose too much to not begin the next design cycle.
I will do my part and buy both! Many camouflage schemes to attempt and then there's the variants:

Regular Matilda II
Matilda Baron
Matilda CDL
Matilda Scorpion
Matilda Bobbin (apologies to the Churchill)
Matilda Crane
Matilda Hedgehog
Matilda "Oswald" (captured Matilda with a Marder-esque 50mm setup on top)
Matilda AMRA
Matilda Inglis Portable Bridge
Matilda CS (Aussie 3" howitzer and cool radio handset externally on back of the hull)
Matilda Frog
Matilda Bulldozer

all said in the voice of Buford "Bubba" Blue.

What a time to be alive. In recent years, more Allied tanks have finally appeared: Churchill, Chaffee, Stuart, Crusader, and now Matilda.

I will definitely do a Lend-Lease version.

That is interesting. I think I'll hold off for the Coolbank release though. If it's as good as their Crusader there will be a lot less detail work to do. I also hope someone releases a set of the later style spud tracks.

It is Definitely overdue.

I agree. I would hold off until the Coolbank one comes out. It may not be Tamiya compatible, but the Coolbank detail is way better than TongDE.

But Coolbank electronics is trash. TD 3.0 is basically HL 7.1

A North Africa campaign is shaping up with Tigers, Pz IV and Pz III on one side and Churchills, Crusaders and now Matildas on the other side. Would be a sight to see…

As for the Coolbank / Tongde duo - someone explained on a German forum: Coolbank designs for Tongde, and Tongde manufactures for Coolbank. So there won't be a second "alternative" Matilda ;)
