Mark IV is pain in the ass to build, mine is still in progress because internal mechanisms of sponsons are very flimsy. Mine Ferdinand is on the shelf in parts because elements of suspension are broken. This is another drawback of the Hooben – spare parts are almost impossible to find. This isn't Heng Long, where you can buy each component separately.

I don’t claim any special skills, but it does require a certain amount of experience, and good tools. I had no interaction with Hooben themselves, so can’t comment there.null’s brawl
It’s now a good tanks and runs well, the only iffy bit being the barrel recoil, which works - just. There’s quite a lot of advice/info available on line.
For the Hooben tanks (like the Tiger, T-55, or Elefant), what is the most straightforward and common electronics upgrade path? Can I simply drop in a Clark TK-series or a Tamiya TBU, or does it require significant modification to fit?

A proper introduction is kindly suggested before asking for advice or help-

Here's the link for the Tiger; at only $68 brand-new I figured it would be worth it even if I had to put some work into it. Since it was stocked in the US I didn't have to wait an eternity

Says it's sold out. Which is probably a holiday blessing.

I'm guessing that if you would've bought it they wouldn't have shipped it to you. They did that to me one time. I saw something with a great price and they cancelled my order and said I could order it again at the corrected price. Hooben is just a :poop: company overall.

I bought one before they sold out... at that price, I'm sure they didn't last long, even with the bad rap. That's what started this whole post... my first exposure to Hooben quality - or lack of. But it's worth $68 just for the parts alone, if not to use the body & install some good electronics
