Aluminium casting
Re: Aluminium casting
Having worked across the road from where they poured out the slag from the steel tundishes. Make sure the mould is dry before pouring. Water and molten metals make for a rather exciting combination.....

If you want some tips on how to operate a backyard foundry, look up Jerry Carducci who is well know in the community. He has years of experience when to comes to casting various metals for AFV models, mostly 1/10 & 1/16 but he's now deep into 1/6 scale builds - has 19 Armortek models at last count!Gbo wrote: ↑Wed Oct 08, 2025 8:20 pm Admins please move if necessary.
Hi I am preparing to get into aluminium casting. This is mainly for tracks, road wheels, sprockets etc for a 1/6 Chieftain (absolutely love the things) I am planning to make the patterns by 3d printing. Anyone else doing anything similar? Thanks
He doesn't much anymore on his website http://tanks.linite.com but can be always be found on Facebook & RC Universe as well here on some occasions.
