Hi Matt
Sorry to read about your ground hugging episode..... here is a sick tale to make you feel better about not having a helmet on...
Up to a year ago I rode a Honda Fireblade motorbike......for a 60 year old it was a bit of fun that perhaps I should have thought about in depth a lot more than I did.
I pulled a few wheelies (by accident) that got me noted at the bike club, and entered corners far to quickly many times, but the Fireblade is a bike bred from the racetrack so it was kind to me....it never threw me off even when I deserved it.... I was soon to ride my luck too far....
I rode past a garage one evening where someone had overfilled his car with diesel and it spilled out onto the road, needless to say I discovered it......
I was about to lean the bike over and scoot round a roundabout in style when all traction was lost...
The bike sat up, tried to "high side" me...failed...then took a short cut over the roundabout and associated flower beds. Not bad so far...I came off the other side of the roundabout and just missed the back of a bus.....still luck is with me....I pulled over sharpish and shock hit me big time.
I felt very ill and threw up before I could get my helmet off....nice.....
It cost me about £600 for two new wheels and tyres plus £300 for a new helmet....I always raised my visor and smelt the air around garages and roundabouts from that day on.....
I have no doubt you will never forget to un lock your forks again.....better still get the lever on your handlebars like wot I got.....
Anyway it is haloween so you will fit rite in with the munsters on the streets over the weekend
Seeyah saturday
Mike
