She has arrived today, and what a beautiful beast she is! I was pleasantly surprised that all of the upgrades I had purchased for it were already installed on arrival, Thank you, Toucan Hobbies!

The red-eyes are sitting on top of it, which I think may be a pain for painting, though, the base colour of it is really solid, and very close to what I was looking for anyway.

I will need to start properly measuring up all of the sizes I need for the skirting brackets, but I have redesigned the base design to be made from thin sheet metal.
Currently, this is modelled with much thicker metal than I will use, but it was more for planning than anything. I now have a good plan with good angles to base the final design and fabrication on.

You can see the new design shape; This is designed to be bent from sheet metal, the main purpose of this preliminary design (before the tank got here) was to work out the angles I would need to bend the metal to in order to achieve the correct angle from the hull; These 2 pieces are the only ones that will need to be bent, so I have drawn out a plan for those pieces as a 2D drawing to make it easier to create the same piece 8 times. (twice per mount) and they should fit onto the tank like so; I'm aware that I've modelled these pieces inside out - the connecting bracket should have the bend radius' outwards facing - this will of course be fixed.

I have modelled holes in the preliminary design to accommodate for standard dressmaker pins being used as additional reinforcement, as well as gluing the components in place.
I'll need to do some looking into materials to work out bend radius to ensure I get the correct measurements, and depending on the material I will need to see what glue(s) are best.

Yet to arrive are the grilles for the rear, and the rear does definitely look like it needs some love for that added scale detail. Now to start the disassembly process.

Upon disassembly I've found one of the outer track links missing; Is it possible to buy individual links? I can only find entire tracks for sale.

Might be worth just chasing up with Toucan if theyll send me one

This might have come off in shipping is my thoughts, i will have a rat through the box when I get home this afternoon. What glue is the best for these metal tracks?

There should be a packet with 2 or 4 spare links & pins in the box.
All mine from HL or thru Toucan do

4 spare tracks should be in the box......
If you accidentally lost the bag, then it will not be difficult to make this part in 5 minutes from any material, well, except chewing gum....

Ah, unfortunately the spares includes (2 of) are both plastic, and incompatible with the metal tracks. I'll get the actual ones from Toucan, so I have more spares (aswell as it having the same strength and characteristics of the other links)

I had 4 sets of tracks for the metal tracks...
