OK, all three buildings are pretty much ready for paint, but tonight I kept finding new 3D printed greebles. Each kit comes with roof section that has no windows and one section with attic windows. I wanted some differentiation between the homes so I combined parts of two kits. I took the two sections of windowless roof and joined them. I also took the two sections of windowed roof and joined them. The windowless roof panels are slightly shorter than the windowed ones. Since they weren't designed to do this, there is a small gap created on the non-windowed roof. I did have to shorten one of the the now dual windowed roof sections to get them to line up. My mini table top table saw took care of that in a few seconds. None of the trim or windows are permanently installed at this point so that they can be removed easily for painting. Main assembly done with some Titebond III wood glue.





I also decided that I wanted my shutters to work. One of the homes will get full working shutters of the type that came in the kit and the other house may get some stone around the windows and no shutters. I may end up 3D printing some different shutters for the bakery. I had bought these mini hinges for some project long ago and don't even remember what for. They will make nice hinges for the shutters.







The shuttered house will get a full terracotta roof that I'm 3D printing tonight. That will cover the slight gap at the top nicely.



Gonna be picking up some acrylic sheet to make the windows as I need to visit Home Depot to grab some ceiling fans to install in the spare bedrooms.

Why can't I ever just build something right out of the box...

I am pleased to see these photos. Are those going to be red roof tiles? Would that I could dive into buying and building these, too. Keep us updated.
(I am trying to remember if you recommended the mini table top table saw" a couple of years ago, but I got one then: it is such a handy-dandy tool.)

Roof will be painted in a terracotta orangish color. I use my mini-table saw all the time because most pieces are too small to use my regular sized table saw and since it sits on my hobby desk it's so much more convenient to use. I recently got a mini chop saw with an abrasive blade to cut track pins for all my 3D printed tanks. That tool is a hand saver when I'm having to cut a couple hundred steel pins.

I have thought about home-made track pins, but I wonder about the qualities of the iron/steel--malleability, hardness, etc. What stock (obviously of various diameters) do you use for track pins? Is there a U.S. source you use? Or can one get the stock from a U.S. hardware store such as Ace, Tru-Value, etc.?

I've just got a bunch of different lengths/diameters of spring steel rod. I get it from AliExpress if I have the time to wait and/or Amazon if I don't have time. I've got a bunch of different diameters from .08mm to 1.2mm for 1/16 stuff. I have larger ones for the larger tanks. When I ordered 3mm pins for the 1/6th KV-1, I ordered them in the length I needed as those would be time consuming to cut to length.
