So after a 13hr shift I came home and took my frustration out on the poor Tiger. Let's just say one way another the wheels and motors are now off! I think I'm going to get myself a new lower hull and keep this one as spares, maybe even use it for paint trials. At least the wheels, tracks and steel 4.1 motors motors where saved!Image

That stuff still looks like gold to me !!
All the grub screws, arms, torsion bars etc are available as spares.
IMEX in the U.S or Forgebear in the UK.

What do you think is wrong with the lower? I agree with Bix that's a worthy platform to start a new build on.

I see a couple of busted torsion bar anchor points and no doubt some other issues unseen, but surely its worth repair over replacement ?

I would need a set of torsion bars + Axels. I had to take a hammer and punch with lots of heat just to get the Axels free as everything had thread lock, parts of the body are warped and cracked. Full chassis at least comes kitted with brand new torsen bars so all I'd need is a set of axles. I'll give it some thought though.

Well ... yet more progress on the Tiger.
The new chassis and turret have arrived from @forgebear in record time with their customary sweets Image

Now I have a choice to make: Keep the metal turret and put the recoil flash internals into it or just run the plastic turret.

If I don't end up using the metal BB turret, it will go up for sale along with the old hull.Image

Another start i have made was to start slowly shaving and sanding most of the moulded on tools from the hull to be replaced by metal replacement.

I'm also trying to find a front hull ventilation blower if anyone knows where to find on? ImageImageImage

After this I'm going to start work on the road wheels and idlers and sprockets then onto my favourite red oxide Primer!

Plastic turrets are highly recommended by me for weight saving and ease of alteration.
East Coast Armory is where I think I got my front hull ventilation blower. This info is coming from an old man with a family history of Alzheimer’s.

Ohh the absolute fun "Not"of buzzing off the molded in tools on the Taigen... :headbang:

You missed the vent cover at Forgebear-

https://www.forgebeartanks.com/store/p2 ... _Long.html

I have used both the ECA piece and the one above. I prefer the aluminum one, it's more crisp and closer to the real thing.

Oh, Dominique also sells them-
