I'll send them an email,as you suggest.
I forgot to mention, the only other supplier that had them in stock, heng-long-panzer.de, was no solution for me even apart from the price, when I tried to check the cost of postage from Germany to the UK, they said that they could not send any consignments of less than 170 Euros for tax reasons !
UK Source of 1/16 Tank spare parts ?

The secret is to build up a list of parts needed that make uo an order that make mail costs viable.
So not an item here an item there but a stack of stuff in one order.

Re: UK Source of 1/16 Tank spare parts ?
But I only need two or three bits !

I tried Forgebear and as everyone had said, they're very helpful and Dave was quick to reply, but unfortunately don't have that particular part.
As the almost exact kit of parts that I need is listed on that German website, at ( https://heng-long-panzer.de/en/Taigen-T ... -1-16.html ) it looks as though it's a proprietary spare part item. Does anyone know of a UK based Henglong/Taigen parts distributor ?

You do know that the Feifal air cleaner system was only fitted to earlier versions of the Tiger 1 don't you ?
By January 1944 there were no parts of the Feifal air cleaner system to be seen on the Tanks body or rear plate.
You can build a totally accurate Tank with those parts absent.
Many of us do.

I didn't know that Jarndice.... nil points for observation for me again...jarndice wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2024 12:35 pm You do know that the Feifal air cleaner system was only fitted to earlier versions of the Tiger 1 don't you ?

I'll dispense with the air cleaner boxes on the back and touch in the sprayed areas forthwith. It'll make opening the tank a damn sight easier too....
thanks..
Re: UK Source of 1/16 Tank spare parts ?
While I was still looking I found a supplier for just the air intake connection on the engine deck on Aliexpress, but when the postage and tax was added it was still over £10...
Call me a tight git, but that's so disproportionate for a piece of plastic smaller than your thumb.
I'll either go with Jarndice's suggestion of leaving all the Feifal gear off, or keep an eye open long term for a broken Toger 1 on Ebay. I've seen those go for around 20-30 quid without radio gear etc..

Oh, gasp, no! This Tiger I is only your first Tiger I tank. Eventually you will need three, the early (as you have), a mid-production, and a late-production. So you find two more Tiger I tanks, mid and late, and then order the parts you need, as they can readily be stuck in the shipping boxes. Instant poverty!
I am sorry you have the Brexit problem. Licmas ( heng-long-panzer.de) is one of my favorites, but, then, Mattias Lickel can ship to the U.S. and I usually wait to put together larger orders to make the postal cost worthwhile. I checked around a bit here in the U.S., figuring that I might find the parts. I don't see the exact ones you need. Anyway, here are some sources you may want to check, though in many cases shipping may be the cost problem.

Then you can have a Mid Tiger and retain the rubber roadwheels.
Ive also seen pics of Tigers with one or both Feifel canisters missing so I assume they then just run the intake via the Y-shaped branch fitting on the deck(which is missing from yours)
Also, its a well know issue that the strainer elements in the early Feifel canisters were often left out so you can see a hole in the base of the Feifel body with a chain dangling.
Apparently this was to avoid the solids freezing in place and restricting the airflow thru the cyclone & onto the engine.

Re: UK Source of 1/16 Tank spare parts ?
Jarndice is spot on. You could build a "Mid War" [Misnomer] August 1943 to January 44 Tiger or a Late War Tiger January 1944 to August of 44 that wouldn't require the Y intake box but would require the mid-/late armored cover. Me personally I absolutely hate the look of the Feifel filters. So I model without them which can be done with early Tigers as well.
The early war Tigers had 2 different types of Feifel filters, early cannister types as seen on Tiger 131 at Bovington and then the next version which is what comes on the Taigen and Heng Long RC tanks.
Here is a link discussing them-
https://tiger1.info/EN/Feifel-air-precleaners.html
Early twin can on 131-

Here's the 3 options with a Tiger I for the Feifel pre-filters with or without.
Taigen Early Tiger I. These are the nicer hoses than Heng Long stiff plastic tubes. But I've seen modelers use plastic bendy drinking straws with good results.

Heng Long, Early Tiger I sans the canisters, again because I hate them. But as Mr. Bix mentioned they were often removed in extremely cold climates like the eastern front for performance reasons, and often not replaced.

Taigen, Mid or Late War Tiger I intake with the armored plate instead of the "Y" intake pipes.

I have these pieces available if you're interested, But I'm in New York-

I do not have the "Y" piece because I cut it down and used it.
