And that is why I have avoided buying Heng Long PZ111/4 Tanks with Turrets,
Patently this is a PZ111 but Heng Longs PZ4 Turret is the same in that even after Taigen/Torros revised Turrets which are now in my opinion the definative Heng Long continue to knowingly churn out unchanged totally inaccurate Armour with no attempt to modify them,
I have no intention of encouraging such a cynical atitude by paying them my hard earned.
Good luck with your build Mr Chef.

Cool. My el cheapo HL Panzer III is one of my favourite tanks. Jarlath did all the internals for me and put a proper sized barrel and antenna from RCTank.de on and even with the stock plastic everything tracks wheels idlers and sprockets with the metal gearbox it's so much fun. The track tension took a while to get dialed in but now it runs for a very long time without the tracks coming off or apart at the pins

I agree completely on the ridiculously over sized bin on the HL PZIII but for $200 CAD and maybe the same again to upgrade it to peak battle it's a great little tank if you can ignore that. I love my little tank and I know it's not accurate but still a good looking and driving tank out on the field once dialed in

Yeah as I mentioned in the other post, I did a good amount of reading up prior to the decision. I had already ordered the turret from Taigen on another double sale. I've also ordered the correct recoiling barrel for an "L" from the fatherland. The plan is for a Das Reich Kursk "L" Pz. III to run with my S13 Tiger since they were still known to work together at that point.

What is really annoying is that Heng Longs Bodies are a great blank canvas to work on free of moulded on tools and other fixtures and fittings allowing the builder the choice of painting the complete vehicle and then fitting it with the items on the sprue or fitting your own choice of kit unlike Taigen/Torros armour which come with tools, fixtures and fittings moulded onto the body,

I have had my PZ4 builds stalled because Heng Long PZ4 bodies have not been available which before meant I could buy the HL body and hull and match it to the revised Taigen/Torro Turret,
All a bit like buying a Heng Long Tiger 1 ABS Body and Turret and a Taigen/Torro metal Hull.
You should end up with a great Tank and you will have a control board better than Taigen/Torros.
In the North African campaign the PZ111 was part of almost every heavy Tank unit whereas to my surprise the PZ4 was quite rarely known to run with Tigers within a heavy Tank unit..

I do like mine alot too!
Only too bad the turret hatches couldn't be opened.
Swapped my turret with one from a Tauchpanzer, on which the hatches can open.

I’m sure I could get some bins printed for those who want some more accurate ones
It’s your tank it’s what you make it

I think it is kind of cute. In a weird little German tank way.

Oversize gun, oversize bin, upside down side hatches, and isn't one of the upper bogies in the wrong spot? Meh, still too spunky a little tank not to love!
