The state of airbrush paint for me is a drop on the pad of a finger and it should spread along the capillary patterns.
I have been using this method for 50 years, but this is for a nozzle up to 0.5 mm.
For a 0.8 mm nozzle, the paint is simply diluted to a liquid state, usually 50/50, paint-solvent.

"a drop on the pad of a finger...should spread along the capillary patterns." I will have to try that, Pavel.

Congratulations. On your new arrival.

Thank you sir. Been on my Amazon wish list since last fall. Sales broke and got it all and some extras for $125 with free shipping.
Well since I'm a beginner I did some research and went with well rated inexpensive kit and made sure to get the compressor with a tank.
I'll be practicing very soon. Based on the painting I've seen done on Youtube videos that I like the paint is generally thinned quite a bit. I decided to stay with Tamiya paints as I already have some and I understand that Tamiya acrylics are airbrush and novice friendly.Pavel wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2024 5:46 am The state of airbrush paint for me is a drop on the pad of a finger and it should spread along the capillary patterns.

BIG Thumbs up to Andy's Hobby Head Quarters- https://andyshhq.com/?srsltid=AfmBOorHv ... Tx7ruWTNXQ
I also got a delivery of paints and products from Andy's Hobby who beyond their stock and service, shipping was relatively quick. Packaging, marketing and such are definitely appreciated as well.

I have always been pleased by Andy's Hobby: 1/16 kits, paints, upgrade parts, shipping care. It looks as if your experience is the same. Andy's Hobby had lots of tables full of goodies at the 2024 IMPS nationals and Andy was there the whole time, although exhausted by the time I got free to look around the vendor tables on Friday.

Google translator's very limited vocabulary does not allow me to tell you how I paint models....
but you will try to find the consistency of paint for an airbrush YOURSELF.
I want to note that different airbrushes, with the same nozzle diameter, require different consistencies, I have 5 or 6 of them, I don't remember, there are those adjusted for VERY thin lines, they are used for the finishing line of the color border, there the paint is VERY liquid, practically one solvent...
The main thing is practice, do not forget to take notes on what pressure, consistency and brand of paint are VERY important, what is suitable in one version is unacceptable in another, write it down!!!!
do not forget about the distance to the part, there are nuances here too...

I spent FAR less on my first compressor/air brush and was still tickled as punch (insert your generation's word here). Moving to a new airbrush soon. I am sure you will be elated by the new system soon!

This is one of the best compressors, it is "dual-core", allows you to work with thin nozzles, as well as with a 0.8 mm nozzle, for large surfaces and heavier paints, especially primer, two-component varnish, I painted this plane and changed the livery twice and believe me, they say it worked...

Not quite, I have an airbrush which greatly irritates me so it’s only use for weathering. I still use rattlecans for the main paintPanzermechaniker wrote: ↑Tue Oct 08, 2024 9:03 am Congrats. Guess that leaves me as one of the few rattle canners left. Tamiya can no longer export their spray bombs to the Soviet Socialist Republic of Kanuckistan due to a government prohibition on some ingredient in them. But if I do any more tanks they will be allied or Cold War so I can use Vallejo for them
It’s your tank it’s what you make it
