No,
an external ESC connect to tk7.1 is not possible.
A brushless motor on Dual Current gearbox make no sense..
they work as is very good.

The 7.1 does have external Servo control for recoil where the 7.0 does not, that might be where the confusion is.

At this point, I find hl's tk7.1 more interesting than Clark's tk60.

Smoke in the barrel is something I really want to try).
I wonder if it's compatible with xenon.)


I've been thinking about remodeling my taigen\mato since the Aeromate tiger came out.

I see that hl and mato have come a long way from what I have now.
But i don't know what to build with this stuff. what kind of tiger can i make from what i have with minimal modifications?

Unfortunately I have no idea. My stuff generally uses out of the box electronics and basic functions (no recoil yet or fancy gearboxes). Some day I may venture down that path but for now I take 'em out of the box add a couple details and enjoy...

I do hate the fact that I have a tote full of HL transmitters, one for each tank! Somebody clever will some day come up with a system where I could use one programmable TX to run those HLs.

Is a great way to collect all the tanks you want.

Very true. I have seen a few builds that the money spent would be more than I have on my entire fleet! Stunning builds that are amazing for sure! But that is what makes our hobby great we all do it our way and hopefully end up with tanks that please us. I tend to spend little and build it to suit me, but frankly none of my tanks are run much. I build them, test run them and put them on the shelf (it what suits me).

If you do not want to use a TX HL which is specifically dedicated, but have a standard system like in aeromodelling or cars, etc., you should turn to Elmod, Clark, or Beier, I recommend reading the excellent Rad blog, see attached link

I spent a real lot of money building the tank whose pics are above. and I'm still not happy with it.
I don't feel realistic about him.
and yet, I roll him around the lawn quite a bit.

I have elmod fusion pro on my aero-mate tiger and clark tk60 on taigen\mato
elmod is a good board.
but about clark tk60, im not sure is it good or not compared to hl tk7.1

I know there is that option but upgrading each one to run aftermarket.... or .... simply finding the correct TX from the tote and adding batteries.... I've admitted in the past that I am cheap...

I do enjoy my Flysky transmitter that runs both DUKWs and soon the Dragon Wagon (none have recoil, sound or smoke).

I did say I was cheap. I'm sure there are replacement torsion springs out there but my method would try to re-twist the torsions. Nothing to lose as long as replacements are available. Just do write down what angles you are starting with (two lines "X") and then tweak with a couple pliers or such. You will need to pay attention to which way to twist of course to increase or decrease tension. And then like others on the forum and in many threads have suggested, consider resting the tanks on blocks/spacers when not in use. Most of my tanks are feather weights but a few are heavier and get parked on blocks.
