"I've been loosening up a bit with my rivet counting. It seems I'm not getting usable tanks by doing too much research. I'm getting to a point where I'm going to hit the high points and accept some of the low points."

You are so good at these builds that a little effective compromise is not a compromise at all, but a strength.

What magnets do you use? I got some beveled north and south rare earth magnets that fit inside the original HL plastic screw standoffs, but the screws are too small compared to the original screws, so I have to put something inside for the screws to hold.

Also, where did you get the bolts you used here? Would love to do that inside of the screws. Did you use blue loctite so you could get them out again, or just glue them down?

I got my hands on a HL Merkava a little bit ago and I’m looking into what I want to do.
The magnets I use don't fit inside the post area, they are bigger than the posts. I have to shorten the upper and lower posts to add them.

The magnets are 8mm x 3mm Hole 3mm N52 Countersunk Ring Rare Earth Neodymium: https://jc-magnetics.com/Countersunk/8m ... gnet-rings

I use an M3 sized screw and an M3 5mm brass standoff as my bolt on the lower hull. The standoffs have a smaller external dimension than an M3 bolt does. Sometimes I glue the standoffs to the M3 screw, but most of the time I don't. If the standoff start to spin before getting tight I just use a small flat head screw driver wedged between the wall of the post and the flat on the standoff. Don't over tighten the screw on the standoff or you will crack the magnet in half.

On the upper hull, I just use an M3 sized sized coarse countersunk screw like this kind: https://www.amazon.com/MOOPW-Flat-Head- ... 9tdGY&th=1

Thanks for the details about the magnets!

One other thing, are there any sound sets out there for the Merkava? I thought Elmod had one, but they don’t. I was trying to gather some YouTube footage to try to make my own, but I don’t want to reinvent the wheel if I don’t have to.

I couldn't resist and bought myself a chariot...
Well, the process of finishing is still ongoing and I'll soon post it as a separate topic so as not to interfere here.
But one detail bothers me....
The inhabitants of the Celestial Empire place the machine gun to the left of the device for its control, and in the original it is installed on the RIGHT.
Of course, I trust the photo of the original more...

:haha: There's this thing called an "inclinometer" that will tell you that it's too late. I can imagine officers really steaming at the crew and in private laughing uproariously.
