Guys ,
What you are forgetting is Brownie Points or Good Boys credits. Call them what you will the theory is the same. Complete some ostensively expensive and difficult task about the home and garden cheaply and easily, make a bit show carrying out said repair and stressing the cost of calling out a tradesman. This gets the good ladies gratitude and you can buy tanks as and when. Such as repairing the very expensive whole house water pump with 10 minutes research on YouTube and a £50 new valve switch from eBay. It took longer to watch the video on Youtube than it did to carry out the repair.
It can also be worked to your advantage if the said task requires the purchase of new tools or an unsupervised visit to the tool store.
However there are extra special Brownie points that can be banked for a really major good deed. Like when the wife goes swimming and forgets she is wearing her Grandmothers Gold and Ruby earrings and loses one in the pool. She is despondent. The next day I go swimming and decide to spend a few minutes floating up and down searching, a ray of sunshine just happens to break through and I spot the thing. Needless to say I now have extra special points in the bank.

I was under the impression I could make my ex-wife happy in some way, shape, or form...I was wrong which is why I made myself happy again by divorcing her...

Since getting divorced I've stopped smoking, stopped drinking, and actually have money in my savings account again.

I have now in the interest of our harmonious relationship informed her I only want three more tanks, and two other vehicles. This in my mind sets her a limit for new hand bags. A Further ten. This is all after I have revived my old Tamiya Leopard 1, and if I have any money left from doing said revival.

How do you manage to retain brownie points/good boy points? Mine seem to expire at midnight on the day gained.

Funny how that works unless it's something done wrong

Just how how long have you people been married ?
I have never been married. Yet, I have been dating the same Lady for 48 years this coming 26th of November, and we have been engaged for 41 years, about now
Therefore I can never get divorced lol.
