Not that far if you have access to a car if you are in the GTA. A leisurely hour and a half from midtown on a Saturday morningMichael151722 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 25, 2024 3:50 am Hello,
K/W as in Kitchener, Waterloo area that is extremely far from where I am but maybe one day I can make it there. In terms of battling I haven’t thought that far ahead yet as I am still finishing the basics of the build but it is a great tank, how did you like yours

I do have access to car will let you know if I want to come for a tank meet soon! Still finishing up my build and yours look very good and beautiful. True beast of a tank. May I ask is there a reason why you have one of the skirts off I see that quite often even on YouTube builds?Panzermechaniker wrote: ↑Tue Jun 25, 2024 4:24 amNot that far if you have access to a car if you are in the GTA. Ah ok thank you, I was also wondering how do you guys keep your models dust free, as I want to display mine but seems like there is nothing for the size of 1:16?
Thank you
Thank you

They get dusty but a quick brush with like a broad soft make up brush works a treat
Guards missing were a common thing on Tanks back in the day. They were made removable to enable easy configuration changes for entrainment and always saw impact from obstacles and trees so very often were torn off.
King Tigers had to have all theirs removed and narrow tracks fitted to move by train and often the guards were simply not refitted after changing back to battle tracks

1/16 Tiger 1s and Tiger 2s just like the real thing can be fitted with Transport tracks when being moved by rail these are available or at least they were,
ABERS front and rear fenders for the Tiger 1 can be built with hinged end plates,
If you do decide to build working hinged end plates using ABERS PE Kit I suggest you back the inside of the fenders with 1mm plasticard for extra rigidity
The side fenders on both types were unbolted and stowed on the back of the Tank,
The cables on the side of the body were used to fit and remove the tracks these were not used for towing,
The cables on top of the body were the tow ropes.
