Rob 59: The cap on the crewman leaning out the side hatch really caught my eye. I have books on German WWII tankers' uniforms, etc., and I have not seen a cap like that. So I am curious. Is is a winter version of the cap?

I think it is very simple….
He is just wearing a normal ‚Schiffgen‘ cap, and for the cold he just wrapped something like a buff around his head, which covers the cap partially.

That was my guess, too, but I had never seen the wrapped cap/head before.

And some more crewmen:
The Driver
The Radio operator
And a Panzer Grenadier

6 more figures to go on this Panzer IV:
The loader and 5 more Panzer Grenadiere.
To be continued.

I am sure, he is wearing 2 different things:
1. the usual Schiffgen (the black cap)
2. a seperate buff to protect his ears against the cold.
So no cap/head/buff as one piece!

It looks as if the co-driver/gunner was burned by a kiss on the cheek from some French woman.

The figures add so much interest and fun to any AFV.

Made a little progress these days.
Crew and Tankriders are painted.
Some tankriders still need to be sprayed with clear varnish matt, but at the moment I am busy assembling/painting some Tankriders for another P-IV, so in the end I will spray them all at the same time.
The Panzer is sprayed in Dunkelgelb now and the turret armor is completed too, not decided yet what to do with the camo yet, and weathering needs to be done afterwards too.

Wonderful! The pile of infantry hitchhikers adds so much to the tank!
