The Russia-Ukraine war made the superpowers realise that highly advanced tanks stood no chance against drone and land-launched anti-tank missiles and so decided to roll back to simpler, cheaper technology by taking WW2 tanks and adding modern gunnery like Gatlings as anti-personnel and anti-light armour weapons.
