I have had the same experience with the castors. 
It's a lot of work, in the future a late Tiger will come from Trumpeter, maybe are they usable.
It is good to recognize the difference, I think with a Tamiya lower hull you are very well served, there are also many possibilities to improve them. For example, I have modified the Tamiya suspension so that it can be adjusted, such as one from Corleis.
