I am thinking a late m4a2. From information I gathered on early war lend lease a lot of the obsolete m3 lee went to Russia but my information on Russian Sherman’s at the min is limited

Yeah they got the Lee's and were just as unhappy with them as our guys. We then sent them M4A2 75& 76's which they liked.

We didn’t really keep any of the late a2 other that what was sent to commonwealth troops in Sicily. From what I understand we already had the more effective 17pdr so didn’t need the American 76mm

Anyway now it’s time for the American Sherman’s first up your henglong m4a3 105. This is the pro version and and the first attempt at weathering

Next is the m4a3 76. This on is again HL with a mato turret and track

And the last of the American for now at least the m4a3e2. Sherman jumbo 76mm. I can’t really tell you anything about this on as I bought it rather than built it. But it will get the usual upgrade parts when I Finnish some of my other projects. I can’t even tell you if it accurate because it was a I like that so I bought it moment. But it does have what looks to be plasticard armour plates to the front and sides of the hull and your late turret. So for me at least that’s pretty much all a jumbo is

Now for the future Sherman’s. There will be a late m4a1 a late m4a2 a 75mm m4a3, an easy 8. A very early m4a2 with the m3 bogies, an m4a4 75mm a firefly 1c (Canadian) on the a1 hull and the firefly IIc which is the hybrid. My research points to the cast front of the late a1 and the welded back of the a2

Great work! Death Traps, in my opinion did a great disservice to the Sherman. Politics, Patton and other factors led this tank series to be under gunned/armored than the newer Axis tanks. But 50,000 in 4 years...

Crews generally liked the Sherman tanks from the after war reports. The were reliable and fairly comfortable for the crew. That can't be said for a lot of tanks in WW2. I think the lack of effective penetration is primarily an internet myth along with the tendency to catch on fire as that was mitigated by the wet ammo rack storage. Each crewman of a Sherman also got their own hatch so when they needed to exit the tank quickly, they could. There were only 1500 Tigers and like 600 King Tigers made. The odds of you running into those vehicles in battle was very small. Most of the time the Sherman was fighting PZ3s and PZ4s or variants of those tanks. In that role, they would be quite effective.
