Today we took her apart.

Peek-a-boo!

Color coded the wires for easy connection.

The only 2 not marked are the LED indicators but they're super easy since the wires go directly to the lights, easy to trace.

Now on to taping and masking off everything with a hole for painting... But first Sanding Everything down and removing any hangups.

Sanding, sanding, sanding. Wet Sanding. 600 grit then 800 grit then 1500 grit. Wet sanding is the way to go. much less dirty and dusty.

Theres some flash here and there. rough spots, some gaps etc. I got it all smooth as a baby's bottom.

Thank you very much. This is great inspiration.

I had considered relocating tools and the cleaning rod tube but after some research I saw that these modifications were unit specific and since I wasn't trying to emulate a historical unit I would skip tha.

What thickness of styrene did you use for the hull/ I wasn't ready for this yet but I do have .40 styrene sheets that I'm using for shurtzen.

Where did you source the outer Tamiya wheels and Mantlet assembly? The wheels I didn't care so much about, I know you mentioned them before but I figured since I was doing the shurtzen this time that the wheels could wait.

The Mantlet assembly was more of a concern for me. But at this point it will have to wait for my next Jagdpanther. As well I wanted a more accurate Gun. The gun i tried to ask around about but didn't get much response.

The gun should be exactly the same as the King Tigers but unfortunately it is not. It's a mix of the KT and Panther G's Gun. Not as big as the KT's gun but not 1 piece like the Panthers. Again I'm going to work on the KT gun in the Jagdpanther with flash and smoke for my next build.

Now to your "Magic Grime" that looks like a great product I'll have to get in my hands to try. Does it have to be applied with the hairspray and white wash first of do you just put it on any basecoat for weathering? It looks like it would cut down on my weathering process.

The way it is shown used reminds me of how the miniature crowd and warhammer peeps started using AK Streaking Grime.

Ahh baby Jagdpanther steps...

Thanks for the support.

G'day Mr Chef, keep in mind that the JPs had one piece barrels on the early versions, but two-piece on the later & more numerous ones.
The early ones(some) had welded mantlets where the lates had bolted ones.
Of course there are many modifications in this series of AFV's but they are as accurate as finger prints!!

All of the previous reason is why I haven't done many German tanks. Too many variants... :)
