What a beauty! I've always lusted after a real 1/16 R/C of these SD-KFZ and always wondered why Tamiya or Hooben or somebody didn't see the potential of offering one. Instead Hooben offers the Merkava, which is fine, but was it really the tank everybody was asking for.
Same goes for the M113! Always one of my favorite armored vehicles, with a waterproofing kit of some kind who wouldn't want to drive their APC into the water and watch him go? Now I know you can get the full-metal OKMO M113, for a cool $600, but it seems to me it would be not too complicated for HL or even Hooben to crank out some good old plastic type M113's for less than $300. With its easy-to-make boxy shape it seems like it'd be a natural... but so far all there is, is Ludwig's from-the-ground-up kit, plus the OKMO, which at 6 bills I believe, is way above the price-point of most people who'd want one in the first place.

Sorry, but OKMOs M113 is 3D printed in plastic, not metal. "Print with industrial-grade SLA material." Basically nylon.

Hooben is making an M113, but it's on pre-order and it's $476. But we can discuss M113 options in an M113 thread instead of in this one.

"After a longer delay electronics are now finished" Less than a year, Panzerjaeger66---that's a long delay? My FAMO build started quietly over two years ago and is currently at a dead halt for lack of working electronics.

Please, what did you use?

uh, yes I know the Famo and it´s a special kind of headache

In my halftracks are these electronoics used:

https://sgs-electronic.de/webshop/produ ... -s-32ls-ht

but I guess because the Famo is more weight, 3 Amps are probaly too less; maybe 10 Amps should work better:

Oh, sigh, the TVC-B-10 is exactly the electronics I have used, twice, with both failing to work. (There's a long explanation at Mon Jan 29, 2024 1:45 am viewtopic.php?t=33379&start=100) It has been a long time and with problems every step of the way, if not with electronics, then with the tracks and sprockets interaction. However, I have not given up.

Update 5 May 2025: I gave up. Or, rather, the budget gave up. I think there is nothing wrong with the SGS TVC-B-10 board. Rather, I think a "standard" sized servo and the weight and stubborn tracks of the Asiatam FAMO overloaded the board and my willingness to spend even more. Now it's a nice static model with tracks that roll when helped by deus ex machina (i.e. ye olde hand push); that is the tracks roll until they jam. There's a conclusion to the long :headbang: at: viewtopic.php?t=33379&start=110

oh, I´m sorry to hear that. I know some guys with Famo´s and they have still problems too, so your not alone but that doesn`t help....

It's been a long time since the last post here, but the paint job took a lot of time. The steering wasn't really satisfactory either, so we from Fertigungswerk 16 developed a simple board that is only connected to the TK-7.0 so that the steering servo of the front axle is also working.

Seems to be running well. That turning radius looks pretty good for a half-track.
