They do take a looooooTTTTTT of work to get anywhere descent looking as I found out, but for me it was the simple choice of put in the work cheaper that shelling out for a Taigen.
Give you an idea, it would/has cost me that much in postage from the Northern Hemisphere as the purchase price of that Matorro Jagdtiger !!!

Good choice the Taigen, you won’t regret it

Million dollar question--did Taigen correct the bodywork flaws of the Heng Feng, but with better internals?
I wonder what the bastard-child of a midnight dalliance between a KVII and Jagdtiger would look like?

The Taigen JT is a completely new design that shares nothing with the Heng Feng.

So the Taigen is value for money, or over priced.

'Over priced' depends on your perspective. Its certainly what I would call expensive - but if you want an RC version that looks right when you look at it up close, then its the only game in town. (unless you want to settle for the static Trumpeter kit in 1/16 - secret option C?)
The electronics are ok as far as I can remember (maybe others can comment on Taigen's boards, I don't have any here), The running gear is all metal (which has its positives as well as its negatives) but should be reasonably robust so long as you don't do anything stupid, and the plastic body is good quality (unlike the Heng Feng).

Is it worth the better part of £700? Just how badly do you want one?
Could you live with the flaws of the Heng Feng in these times of tight household budgets?

Only you can make that decision...

If someone can tell me about the electronics that would be a great help. Thank you.

As you can tell from Maxmekker's two videos, the stock Taigen/Torro V3 sound is decent. The sound Maxmekker accomplishes in his rebuild is great! I have quite a number of Taigen (or Torro) tanks, and the V3 electronics, now some years old, have the best sound available in a 1/16 mass-market tank, even to the point of differing sound modules for different Maybach engines in German WWII tanks. So a Taigen Jagdtiger would be a good starting point. What is more, you can adapt the V3 electronics to an aftermarket transmitter, perhaps for more flexible and better control than with the stock transmitter (I have yet to try it, but I will someday).
Of course, aftermarket electronics (transmitter, receiver, board, etc.) will give you the best, but the Taigen will give you a decent start and you might just be satisfied with it as is.
