Who is Thomas?

Tomas is the guy who runs Warprints. So far he has done the 1/16 Hetzer, the 1/16 Cromwell, 1/6th Hetzer, and 1/6th Cromwell. Think the 1/6th Cromwell is still a work in progress if I recall correctly, but that could be wrong. Tomas sells pretty complete 3D printed kits (minus electronics) or sells the files for a fee for those that want to print the tank themselves. Has a pretty extensive build manual to go along with the file or tank purchase.

Ah ok. But I think Stefano will not sell the file. His file can’t be printed with a low cost printer. He decided to use a sinterized nylon printer to have a high quality product so all the details don’t need a post working process. The tracks are very strong and durable. He install 4 bearings in the front sprockets and 2 in the rear wheels. Bushes on the suspensions system. There are many expensive M1 and M2 screws that come from Germany.
Now he ‘s studying a low cost version with less detail but printed in the same quality. But nothing printed in wire 3d.

At the moment he is preparing a new tank and he try to make the Goliath in photoetched parts

As you can see next picture is a perfect copy of Maybach hl 230 in 1/6 scale made for Armortek tiger.

Tomas sells his 1/16 Hetzer kit for 365€, half of what I was quoted for Stefano's kit. Granted, his is all 3DP but its extremely well done, certainly not what you would expect from any DIY "low cost printer". Reason I brought up selling files is that, some here, like myself, send out to be printed by industrial printers to the same level as what you say Stefano does using similar materials. Am currently building Lubos' new FT-17 with all exposed parts done in nylon, use FDM printer for structural & less visible parts.

Was just offering that as another option to get his excellent Semovente into more hands. Will be interested to see what he offers as a lower cost version. Cheers.

I spoke to Stefano this morning. He raised a not indifferent question also shared by other "manufacturers" of aftermarket tanks: who assures me that the file / project on which I have invested time and money does not end up being shared among many people or worse ends up in the hands of some tank manufacturer?
I agree with him. In addition, its "philosophy" of design and realization wants to be similar to the high-level one used by large companies such as Tamiya for example: the product is expensive but is at a higher level because of the materials and the accuracy of the details

Tank79: Along with all the tantalizing photos of the Semovente, I noticed the quality of the painting on the Maybach engine. Did you build either of these? They sure represent fine work, much appreciated from across the ocean, too.
