Trumpeter/Henglong T-34 model 1942

I’ve had a bit going on irl (as they say) and motivation, time etc have been lacking. However it seems spring has sprung and with the nicer weather I’ve been a bit more enthused to go into my garage and make some more progress here. Due to the constraints of this being an rc model the drivers compartment has a few more problems to work out and compromises to make compared to the turret which which built pretty much as per instructions. However when viewed through the drivers hatch I think it will be acceptable. With the engine firewall positioned as it is I can get in the driver and radio operators seats (just). There’s a lot more to add so this will all be quite busy once finished.

Some more progress on the t34 interior, I wanted some detail from the engine bay that you could see through the rear access hatch when opened, as well as through the various vents. Due to the gearboxes present and the need for the internals for rc I was quite limited as to what I could do. However I managed to fit a good part of the gearbox in as well as the cooling fan. This slides out in one piece to allow servicing of the gearboxes if needed. I’d like to add covers to the gear boxes to try and mask them a bit more when the tops off.

As an aside I’m trying to find some small brass hinges for the engine deck, anyone with a lead on some smaller than the 1x0.8mm ones I’ve found please let me know!

Has anyone here on RCTW done this kind of modeling before--fitting the mechanicals and electronics in close--downright intimate --proximity with interior details? This is magician stuff!
