Looks good!  I see on mine it does miss the nut and once in they sit just fine!  Perhaps the gearboxes sit a little too close to the wall of the hull making the bits where the sprockets attach a bit wonky hehe!  The screw holes must be in the wrong place on mine!  Does anyone know if I can screw the gearboxes in from the bottom or would that just be silly hehe!!? :D

you could screw the boxes on from underneath if you tapped the holes in the box to M4 and the drilled through the bottom plat with a drill big enough to allow the M4 bolt to pass through

LOL sounds scary!!  I think a really small screwdriver may be just what I need and not attempt screwing it in from the bottom hehe!  Would it be wise to still get the boxes swapped because of the bit where the sprocket attaches being longer on one than the other?

Oooh just another quick question how on earth do I get the hull lock thingy assembled? the instructions are no help there is 5 or so of random small metal pieces and 2 springs I managed the front piece if someone had a picture of how it all goes together at the back it would be a great help!

Sorry for all these silly questions hehe, I can't wait to get my Panzer III going again :D

This is the fixings fitted to my stug. They are a bit fiddly to do and mine required a small 1mm spacer to be fitted under them so it lined up with the slots on the hull.

Hope the picture is clear enough,it's not a very good shot.

Thanks Wight that pic solved the mystery!  It all seems to make sense now hehe!

I powered up all the electronics today on the 'bench' with the old plastic gearboxes and motors just for a test, it was all dead at first until I tightened the crystal on the receiver board now its all working as it should :) I even managed to solder the tamiya connector back to the switch, you will laugh if ever you saw my soldering hehehe!

Should I still get my new gearboxes replaced so that the sprocket on one side doesn't stick out too much?  Thanks for all the help guys :D

Here is the pictures as you can see one is shinier than the other!  The 1st picture shows how one is longer than the other.

Everything is almost ready to go into the hull!  The electronics are fitted to the plastic board and tested, the top closing mechanism is almost ready and all that is needed now is to sort out the gearbox mountings and the 'one longer than the other' anomaly and fit the asiatam wheels when they arrive :D

The closing mechanism is done!!  On one side the middle piece where the spring attaches gets stuck oh well one less side to unclip to change the battery :D  So are my gearboxes 'normal'!?!??!?

It's hard to tell but in the 2nd pic it does look like one shaft is longer then the other (which isn't right).
