Chapter 3:

The Thoma mesh anti-armor Schurzen seems to have been standard equipment to the Panzer IV L/70 (A), at least after the initial entry of the (A) with operational units. Creating the proper profile hanging equipment from scratch was a bridge too far for my modeling skills. As a result I embarked on a campaign to have them created through the magic of the 3D printer. To that end, after much pestering and pleading with a forgiving friend in The Netherlands these very nicely molded pieces were created.The poles are thanks to Trumpeter Customer Service which was very responsive and timely in allowing me to purchase the applicable sprue from their Panzer IV J kit at a nominal price. Together, the hanging hardware and the poles were made to work together to produce what I consider a very good result. Here's is the thought process behind this Thoma hanging hardware:

a really very interesting project you have chosen.

It is very pleasing that you have worked out the project so strongly in detail. And if you had to find some compromises, that is certainly not detrimental to the project.

On the subject of 3D, I do not want to contribute anything, I think there are different qualities and you can be lucky or unlucky with the surfaces.
