Well, I’m stumped. I would make sure that there is no metal burrs or flash on the idler that would keep it too far outboard. Sorry I’m no help. Good luck.

I found this with my Taigen StuG lower chassis. In addition it was compounded by some misaligned casting. Nothing you cannot solve with some drilling bushing and gluing.

have you checked, if by reversing the two sides, the problem was the same, the plastic part of the chassis, would not be longer than the other side? thus blocking the total penetration of the axis, which moreover does not seem very concentric to me? Also check if the length of the axes of the two parts, see if equal distance with the shoulder of the part? once in place, apart from the misalignment? do you have the same dimension in relation to the chassis on both sides? after that these are only personal ideas

also check that the two tension rollers, where there is the axis, are identical in shape and dimensions?
