Better check you'll have an electricity supply if you're going that far north.

You guys are funny over there on that side of the pond. Texas is like 2.8 times larger than the UK. We are a car culture here in the US so jumping in the car and driving a couple of hours is nothing. This guy can't get off his duff and drive to a local post office. :) I'm actually going to be driving from Austin, TX to Seattle, WA to go visit my Mom. I'm driving so I can bring back a bunch of stuff from her house from my childhood and other stuff she has stored up there. Gonna be loading my full sized truck up. Trip is going to be a 34 hour drive each way.

Only been to the UK for some brief stops flying back and forth from the sandbox. Went to downtown London during a 10 hour layover back in like 2011...

So the photo is ten years old, right tankme? I'll be you look even younger now. :P :lolno: A 34-hour drive, eh? I bet you have a 3/4 ton truck with duallys and a longhorn on the hood up front. ;D
Hey, I have a better way: take the Amtrak Texas Eagle to Chicago and then the Empire Builder to Seattle. That would only take five days. Then have the goodies shipped back at minor expense. Take the Coast Starlight down to LA and the Sunset Limited back home. Now that's the way I would go: expensive, slow, and lazy. Yeah!

Yeah it is 10 years old now and I only get better lookin'...lol. Naw...not a BIG truck guy. Just a 1/2 ton crew cab and I keep it because it's paid off. Last time I drove it to Nebraska it actually got 25+ miles per gallon on the highway. Gonna drive this one until the wheels fall off. :) You don't know how much stuff is there. Cost me a small fortune to ship it back to Texas. There is A LOT and she's not getting any younger. Plus there is a nice huge new museum in Dubois, WY (NATIONAL MUSEUM OF MILITARY VEHICLES) that I want to visit along the way.

Sheeesssshhh.....Don't tell anyone, but I actually prefer to drive my 2021 Mazda Miata over my truck. :) I'm not a native Texan so that's my excuse.

I am astonished at the anti Mancunian tirades on the Forum,
Have any of you actually ever visited the Cities of Manchester and Salford,
I used to visit the area weekly for many years,
The major roads are a paradise when compared with the M25 and the North and South circular roads around greater London and unlike the uptight southerners the Northerner is outgoing, Gregarious and will never leave you in doubt as to their feelings,
Lost in London, You pore over your A to Z and lurch on hoping that you will eventually find your destination,
Lost in the North of England, You reach for your A to Z and before the glove box is open there's a tap on the window and someone is asking you where you are looking for.
Lovely people, The salt of the earth and I am from Hertfordshire firmly ensconced in the Home Counties and I love living here but I would have no problem readjusting to life in the North.
It is not buildings that make places good bad or indifferent it is the people and the average northerner edges it over the spoilt southerner everytime.
Oh and Nab Preston is nowhere near Manchester unless you think that Bedford is near to London.
It is the full length of the M61 plus a good few more miles apart
