Out of all the types of "football," I prefer the Aussie Rules Football the best. Played by real men and not overpaid prima donnas.

I was under the impression that "Real men played it with the decapitated head of ones enemy"43rdRecceReg wrote:The 'real' men play it with horses and a dead goat.Son of a gun-ner wrote:Out of all the types of "football," I prefer the Aussie Rules Football the best. I guess we'll have to ask an Australian to find out

That Aussie Rules stuff is a confusing state of affairs!!
My wife is a local so she has grown up with it, so I do understand it better after all these years here, but it’s still a messy sport.
I do think however that in Victoria where the sport is at its most brutal hard core following, the clubs are neighbourhood based, similar to English football, and the feral crowds sometimes behave like crazed cave men before and after games!
Give me Rugby union , Gods pure pastime

Re: WOT A LOAD OF RUBBISH.
I picked Aussie Rules Football out of the games with Football in their title. Although some people call Rugby, Rugby Football, no idea if that's what it's meant to be called?
I do prefer Rugby, I believe Union was a northern preference here, and League southern originally.
They changed some rules for League to make it flow better/faster, but I think Union already flowed faster.

I always thought league was more of a northern thing!Son of a gun-ner wrote:I picked Aussie Rules Football out of the games with Football in their title. Although some people call Rugby, Rugby Football, no idea if that's what it's meant to be called?
