Fine work, very well done. For a guy without a lathe you seem to produce some excellent parts, can't wait to see what happens next in you build. Are the rear springs their to provide tension against the adjusting bolts, instead of a set nut? keep THE PICTURES COMING,SAX

Thanks!

rear tensioners have a bolt that passes though hull and is retained by a set collar. then the bolt can spin freely without falling out of hull. Locking nut is used so that I don't unwind too far and bolt falls out of idler carrier.

Spring is just to maintain some force on the bolts so they don;t loosen with the constant track motion. Spring probably not necessary...but looks cool!

I agree it does look cool, and I understand it's purpose, the shaft extensions look great and seem to solve the problem.Sax

Thanks guys. The Tammy JP driveshafts are ~26mm long (part that sticks out of the gearcase, not the hull). These were about 5mm too short for the metal wheel upgrade. Luckily, the idlers align perfectly.

And I can still use the HL plastic outer final drive cover ....with a little trimming. It will be mostly hidden, but I know it's there.

Did the antenna move, too.

OK, made some progress. IMPACT upgrades from pacific rim are stuck somewhere in the world...

So I put in the tammy torsion 'rods'..tweaked them a little to get a better ride height. Wheels are super. all ball bearings. turn smoothly.

electronics tucked up into hull. Plenty of room, but the 6mm bb gun mechanism takes up some room down low. May have to remove it if I can get the flash/recoil in place.....

Fixed a factory defect in proportional smoker. unit wired wrong. The heating coil needs to go directly to red black power from the rx18 'sm' plug. just a quick resolder...works fine now. video somewhere...

HL tracks work really well. Fit is very nice...little filing here and there...

By the way, after tightening up the axle extensions, they are rock solid without any play!

What advantaged is gained by changing these rods? The early Asiatam TIGER-I hulls had torsion rods that were to strong causing the Tank to ride high. They now offer a lighter sprung set.I'm telling you this experience so you may better understand why I would ask you this question,Sax
