I agree, the timing is a little off by the look of it but at least we are seeing R & D progress from Torro. It means, I think, that they are thinking about what people want and making an effort to meet those desires. I'm sure in time they will get this right at some point (we hope

).
Having said this I had a similar disappointment recently when I took delivery of the latest version of a Taigen Panther G. This one came with the all the bells and whistles including servo recoil and elevation.
Great! (or so I thought) until I tried it out only to see that the recoil timing was way off the mark. The actual firing is not occurring until the cannon recoil is more or less at full depression. The problem is (as far as I can tell - I haven't pulled it down yet, or done anything much with it) to get the V3 board to work with servos Taigen have designed and installed an intervening daughter board of sorts to convert the recoil and elevation DC output from the V3 to digital signal for the servos. Fine, but it appears to introduce a significant time delay and I'm not sure I will be able to fix this (we shall see, if any one has ideas do let me know).
Such is life - looks like I will have an excuse to get another Clark board!
(p.s I like smoking tanks though I accept it's a challenge to get them looking just right

)

Hi
Can you show me this converter? I think I've seen something like this somewhere. This allowed the voltage to be converted to a servo signal, but I think this version was fine-tuning.

Nice job Lee
I don't agree that there is too much smoke when shooting. See here for example:
But I don't like how HL solved in their TK 6.1 servo recoil of the main gun. I belive that it is too slow after being fired. In Abrams recoil of the main gun is very fast even in last phaze when barrel comes back.
As for the exhaust smoke ... even in modern armored vehicles there is lot of it ( and even a lot - especially in Russian), but Abrams is an exception of the rule. His gas turbine produces almost no smoke - the exhaust fumes are virtualy invisible - only hot air on the rear ... So one expense less

Yes I agree with you about the recoil speed, it's good to see that heng long have introduced this function into their board but unfortunately it's a pre determined speed and it does not allow you to adjust settings which is a shame, it's still better than nothing though i suppose and for the cost of the board I'd say it's well worth it
Cheers,Lee.

It is impossible to disagree with you.
I hope that version 7.1 or 8.1 will be created and the HL will surprise us again. May they go further into the ability to fine-tune at least the most essential functions. For now they have already taken the first step in the TK 7.0 (adjustable braking force and turning radius).

By all means, but I won't be getting around to my Pan.G build for a while (as you know I'm still on other projects). However, I think Dominique (RCTanks.de) sells them on his website as a separate upgrade/accessory (if I recall correctly, that is) so it might be worth perusing there for an idea of what it looks like in the meantime.

No problem. I already know what you are talking about. I found this module on rctanks.de. Indeed - it seems that it does not allow for fine-tuning.

It just looks as if the gunner is vaping

From what I can see the HL 7.0 also eliminates servo ports which is a step backward IMO.
