Jonathon if you bought your Tiger 1 from Imex then it is a Taigen or Torro (Trust me they are the same company) they are two of four major 1/16 r/c Tank makers the others being Tamiya and Heng Long,
There are a multitude of smaller companies making complete Tanks or parts, these include Control boards Smokers/Smoke oil, metal wheels/Tracks, Metal Turrets/Bodies/Hulls Gearboxes and anything you can think of to do with 1/16 armour,
Imex have an excellent site that would reward your search for additions and upgrades to your Tiger 1 BUT there are companies around the world who offer an even wider choice,
I will mention two,
Both are in Europe but that should not put you off as postal rates from Europe to the USA are quite reasonable unlike parcels travelling in the other direction,
A word of advise, Companies in the European Union and the UK are obliged by law to charge 19% VAT (Value Added Tax) BUT this tax does not apply to purchasers from the USA so do remind European dealers that you are American and are not liable for VAT,
The advantage of saving 19% vat is that sum is about equal to the postal charges

Almost everything from Heng Long/Taigen/Torro are interchangeable as are some parts from Mato and Tamiya but until you are more familiar with this hobby you might care to ask someone on the Forum for confirmation
We will always offer to help but we will never interfere in your build, It is your Tank but in my experience much can be gained by research on the subject and checking out the detail of a particular Tank makes it unique to you when you incorporate those little details

Thank you very much for your post and additional info! I will be sure to check out both sites for sure. One thing I saw on a YouTube video, I believe, was German voices hollering commands and such while the tank was running. I think it was an additional speaker or programmable item inside the tank that was attached to the speaker. This is something I would be very interested in upgrading with for sure. Do you know if either of those sites could assist me with something like that, or would that be an individual creation of an individual tanker?

I love your tank! The more exhaust smoke, the better...
The sound is really nice as well, also the little detail with the commander's head.
Do you wonder what they are saying in the sound samples? Maybe you already know, but I could translate if you want me to.
Btw, the two boxes makes it look a little like Mickey Mouse

Edit: Well, most likely you know what they are saying because you move the tank / shoot accordingly.

You may not know it but the Soviet Unions T34 Medium Tank was called "The Mickey Mouse" tank by it's own crew's because with the Gunners and the Commanders hatches open at the same time that is exactly what the turret looked like

Sorry for getting back to you so late, was out plowing snow all day yesterday. I should of been a bit more clear with my wording. I left the stock motors and gearboxes, and still use the original batteries but at 5,000 MaH. The first thing I did was get rid of the temperamental stock smoker. I replaced it with a G.I. Tank Smoker's Baroness 2 unit which will function with the Taigen V3 board. I then got rid of the "toy" like transmitter and replaced that with hobby grade transmitter, this to will function with the V3 board. Then I wanted more realistic movements and more features like a coax MG, and user sounds, etc. This led to a board swap with a Elmod Fusion Pro unit, but you will then need a separate receiver too. Since the stock speaker won't function with the Elmod, I switched to a Visaton FRS7 unit which works great.

There are lots of different boards out there, it depends on what you want your tank to do and how much you want to spend on it. Installation is pretty much plug and play. I had no trouble there; it's the electronics, like learning the radio setup and getting the user sounds all set that I struggled with. Jimster's phenomenal "Miss Leningrad" is a prime example of what the Elmod board can do. Check out the Electronics\Extras section for info on all the different items available. I was into RC planes about 20 years ago and things have really changed. There is a steep learning curve with some of these things (for me mostly the radio), but plenty of "RC Wizards" here willing to help. If it wasn't for the great bunch of guys on here, my tank would still be a unmovable, but pretty "shelf queen".

Hope, this helps. All of this sounds much worse than it is. I did this over a period of about 6 months. I'd run the tank and then decide to upgrade something else. It all depends on you. You may be perfectly happy with a stock tank or somewhere in between. Hope your Tiger shows up soon!
