X_S,

See my post in in this month's TOTM contest regarding Model Builder 4's DUKW. At the same tourist trap that I was referring to in Wisconsin Dells, sat a Ford GPA. It was out front by the road as an eye catcher to lure customers in. As a kid it was in good shape, over the years the canvas tarp turned to tatters, and the gauges were smashed or stolen by vandals. When I last saw it about 10 years ago, it was filled with about 2 feet of snow. Even as a kid, I saw it as sad. I'm not sure how many of these cool, little things are still in existence, but it sure seemed a shame to let it rust out and sink into the ground. I haven't been by that spot since, so I don't even know if it's still there.

Cheers,
Eric.

P.S. I do like the Schwimmwagen better though! :D

Always thought a DUKW would be an ideal candidate.

Learned there is a large scale Schwimmwagon in the making for this year. Can't say more but do wish it weren't in the bastard scale I was told which makes absolutely no sense given the market. At this point, I'll sit tight & wait for the official announcement.
