Another answer to your original post is that the Tamiya Acrylic Thinner is alcohol and dries much faster than water, so you avoid paint runs. You can also use the air brush to blow just air and dry the newly sprayed paint much faster.
I have on occasion used it on slot cars and found it fragile. I much prefer Humbrol enamel paints and enamel thinner for my car bodies, but still use Tamiya airbrush cleaner for both.

Yes, I would have thought alcohol would evaporate quicker than water.
Do you remember (or are you old enough to remember) the old Riko slot car kits? I used to paint those old bodies with Humbrol enamel paints, along with converted Airfix car kits. Back then, I think I used some Testor paints on my Tamiya kits, I'm struggling to remember what paints I used on them, well, it was 47 to 48 years ago lol.

i used car screen wash in my acrylic paints to thin for airbrushing works ok for me dont know about you guys

Automotive acrylic thinners as used in the car industry works fine for me with tamiya xf acrylic paint.
