The challenge on my side of the pond is not production being down - on the contrary, we'll all running overtime to keep up. Talking with hobby suppliers I know here, they are busier than ever with new orders. It is the lack of containers & vessel space that are causing more delays than anything; that & demand far exceeding supply lead times.

Case in point, Motion RC recently took on RC tanks, cars & boats earlier this year & can't keep anything in stock in their US & EU distribution centers. They've taken in several containers from HL & KY Model/Haifeng & sell out in record time & are still waiting on that slow boat from the Philippines with Tamiya kits.

I presume Hornby & their related brands are all experiencing the same.

I ordered an expensive slot car from France through them back in March and I've given up on the order. The manufacturer said yes they had it in stock, and then never sent it, and later announced it had sold out.

This kind of uncertainty means the store is very busy, and not selling much.

Can you send a link to your slot shop please mate, I’m chasing some old style oil company decals

This is their decal section: https://www.armchairracer.com.au/workshop/decals

You'd probably have more luck with Patto's Place. Bruce Paterson is reluctant to do custom decals, but he will resize from his existing range, and he will print them if you create the image.

I know a guy in Brissy who might do you a favour, if you can do one for him...

But I am finding it very hard to buy anything now, nothing is in stock, I assume , due to Chinese production down. I’m talking tanks and trains. I thought it would be a good time to modify my OO train layout, but I can’t even get any track! ( mind you they are made in Uk I think):
There are not many locos available at present.
As for tanks, I’m looking to buy another 1:16 Tami, but it’s a question of what you can get, not what you want. And Torro, I bought an M16 Half track on e bay this week, the guy hasn’t actually got them, he’s just hoping to get some soon, but taking orders! Sure I can demand a refund, but it’s dissapointing.
Ranting again! Lol

I think I mentioned the Tamiya Pz IV on a related thread, but- as a regular buyer from Axels in Germany (great service) I see that five Tamiya tank types are currently in stock there. Shipping is reasonable, however, after Jan 1st., I imagine shipping and overall costs (VAT, Tax etc..) will escalate appreciably. :problem:

A while ago, I bought a Tamiya Tiger 1 from Axels, and the price was the lowest I could find anywhere in Northern Europe.

Tamiya.de (Tamiya-Carson) is actullay the main dealership for Europe, but, never having bought anything from them, I can't say what that experience might amount to. That's why I stick to Axels.
