Some interesting observations, Jay-Em.Jay-Em wrote:A game that takes it none too seriously with the authenticity?? Noooo.. don’t say it’s so..![]()
For a real howler, try “World of Tanks” and discover that a Leopard 2A6 has a very hard time knocking down a Panzerkampfwagen something something..And for a really authentic WW2 feeling simulation, might I suggest ‘Wolfenstein Youngblood’
..not!
For the really “ authentic” stuff, I dare to go as far as stating that, especially, the online games are not the place to be.![]()
If one searches for a bit, though, there are quite a few ( usually isometric) WW2 tactical sims around. Some are older games, updated and maintained by small groups of enthousiasts. Some are, as someone already suggested, Indies.
All in all, it’s a bit of a nerdy niche, the stuff that aims to be as precise as possible. And, be honest.. what fun would a game be where one hit in a leg would shut the shooting-bit down, and would force You to play ‘revalidation-sim’ for 6 months? Or a tank-sim that would correctly simulate overheating, and forced You to be a sitting duck for 20 minutes?
They’re not my cup of tea. I’m all Shooter and sandboxgames. The only ‘Sim’ I indulge myself in, is MSFS2020. And even thàt one I don’t take too seriously. I’m more of a “flying tourist” than someone that worries about the wrong pitot-tube position on a Baron...

Just don't blame me when you rock up expecting a 'fun' fps shooter, and find yourself in a game full of angry tryhards who take things deadly seriously...
