I have some British decals from Dean. They're meant for the Firefly, but by 'loosening' the 'rules' a bit, I don't see why they can't be used on a Cromwell, Comet, or Churchill.
Peddinghaus have fantastic arrar of decals in diverse scale, and for a good range of Theatres of Operation. Sadly, Brit decals are a tad underrepresented (but that's the norm in the model tank world). Some I could find I could find in, 1/16, are for the Royal Marines' Centaur tank (Cromwell variant).

Those will suit Mike (Sassgrunt), I believe, as he has a Centaur project pencilled in, (sometime this century. ..but much sooner, I hope )

There are none for the Comet, that I could find, but quite a few listings for the Churchill, in 1/16.

I think we should make the best of pre 60s markings because those colourful days are I fear never to return.
My first tour in Northern Europe the vehicles were bedecked in Tac and Div,Regt and Corp markings and the obligatory Pegasus as well as the Union Flag plus individual unit pennants as well as Chalked Radio Call Signs on the roof of each FFR Champ/Landie,
And when visiting or being visited by other Military units from whatever Nation or Service inevitably your vehicles or theirs would be "Tagged" which added more colour as well as a uniqueness to a truck/Aircraft that is almost never recorded in official documents but does give the hobbyist an opportunity to liven up a model.
On my final tour in Germany albeit with a Nato Company the vehicles were painted in single colour "Dun" Anti-Infra red paint overall so that a single Tac sign was all there was to see,
Practicality rules.
