it really is not as dangerous as you think,
Out of a population in excess of 60 Million the total number of citizens killed on British Roads in 2018 (The Last Figures Available) was 1,784 and that was down 1% from the preceding year.
A tragedy if it was someone you know and love but statistically very low when vehicle saturation and other relevant points (Drink, Speed, Roadworthiness, Competence, Weather conditions) are considered,
Most certainly the percentage of deaths on the road in the UK is far lower than in the Americas, North or South.
Come on over,
As long as you don't bring a late 50s Cadillac Eldorado you should be fine :haha:

I remember my fist drive in the US with stark reality !!
Pulled out of the rental car car park, went to give way, looked up to my left at the absent rear view mirror, missed the cars approaching from my right and bloody near had a crash !!
Learning from that getting around Oklahoma was not so bad u til I get to a Tee intersection with stop signs on every corner !! Who the hell goes first then !!
Then another trip in Houston seeing jokers riding in the back of a tip truck with shovels and other implements !
Motorcycle riders with no helmets and cars with only one number plate
It’s reeeeeeeealy different .
Driving in Europe was similar but they are quick on the horn
Italy :wtf: like driving in Grand Theft Auto

Thanks for the invitation! Perhaps I’ll let you drive though. Maybe after a few pints I’ll get the nerve to try it. ........Oh come on! Just kidding again.
I’ll bring the Dodge Challenger over if we can find a section of road long enough to stretch her legs. :haha:

We have stretches of road long enough to stretch the legs, but the traffic won’t be moving on that road because of roadworks

There’s not too many things worse than sitting on 500 horsepower in 10 mile an hour traffic. Makes me grit my teeth thinking about it. >:<

A lot of parts of Greece and their islands are like that, the Greeks aspire to being like the Italians, clothing, shoes, etc, and especially their driving, I almost gave up trying to do a simple right turn, every time I went to move a bike undertook me at break neck speed.
As for remembering which way to drive in a country that drives on the wrong side, my eldest brother had been clocking up a fair few miles in mainland Europe, came back to England, turned at a junction and hit a big red double decker London bus. But what made it extra funny, my brother had an advanced driving license. And boy did we give his stick :D

This thread has tragically “gone off the road”. Sorry jarndice! Forgot my manners, such as they are.
