I'm originally from WV so still count as a Yank even if I somehow got shanghai'd years ago & ended up in the epicenter where the majority of your model AFV hail from. Been to HL & Hooben more times that I care to count so if you have any questions, just holler.

I don't set my models afire like I did as kid but I still have catalogs from when I first started building in the early '70s. Seeing the prices back then will make one's eyes water.

That is cool. I lived in Saudi Arabia and Greece for a little while decades ago. Been to Taiwan and Singapore around the same time. Never made it to mainland China. Wanted to, but now probably not a good time. I was considering moving to Asia, but its on hold for now. I'm now trying to order some replacement screws for the hulls of my tanks to have around just in case. Eventually when I have the time I'd like to try and do the magnet conversion I saw done by Stanlley on youtube.

No idea. Hell, I'm still waiting for the Comet they were supposedly working on 14 years ago I saw in their R&D room. :haha:

Welcome. I just joined a few weeks ago and all ready have benefited from several of the thousands of posts. I also 20 years wanted to buy some of the 21st Century static models. Lately, well the last year I have collected( off of ebay) 16 of the 1/18 warbirds and 6 of the static tanks. I was able to find a RC Panzer 1/18 scale and it works perfectly. In fact that is the reason I discovered the 1/16 RC tanks. I enjoy both the 1/18 static warbirds, tanks, as well as the 1/16 rc tanks. If I can figure out how to posts some pics I would be glad to share. I think many would be interested in my vintage 21st Century models. Once again welcome.

Hi db_zero,

If bought some M3 x 12mm hex head cap screws from McMaster-Carr.com for the drive train screws for my tanks for less than $9 for a 100qty and received them in 2days. They have every thing you need to maintain anything you own. Seriously.

I was having a hard time finding hardware only like screws, nuts, washers, loctite etc on the tank only sites without buying drive sprockets or something else. Anyway there's a good chance you'll find what you need there.

Just a thought....

I can second the recommendation for McMaster-Carr. We use them in the Machining industry all the time and they're absolutely terrific.
