Mr Tiger, maybe we can use a different axle

Leaf sprung variety with WPL internals, i can maybe sort you out for adjustable width axles.
Or maybe we can look at designing a new axle casing to take the jjrc internals. they are reasonably strong, but only if you replace the nylon bearings with metal ones to ensure a good tight mesh. My experience is the jjrc axles only fail because the pinion has alot of play in the nylon bearing and it causes it to slip under load

@ Gary Metal versions are available - looks for ones with a square housing rather than cylindrical. For the M3, I think plastic will be fine. I'm only going to use a 130 motor, not going to tow, or go rock crawling or racing with it. My philosophy on the whole deal is 'cheap' - if I trash an axle, there are plenty more to be had on Ebay. I've had a few motors burn out, but not broken any axles yet.
@ Will - those axle housings in the model are already custom lengths so I will have to pull the whole gubbins apart as we discussed a while back anyway. Doubt I'll need to do this for the M3, but certainly a beefed up axle with ball bearings for the M19 and Diamond T 696 might be a good idea, I already have 2x5x2.5 ball bearings in my library that I can throw in there.
Still, if you can send over your WPL axles designs that will get me over the hump on the Steyr 1500 and maybe a couple of other projects like the M37 and SdKfz222

Happy to share those, i thought i had already so apologies for not sooner
Give me an idea of track width and i get it tweaked. Still need to finish the front driven axle as i haven't had a need yet myself

My PC is in storage atm but I sent Will some Steyr 1500 A (the coupe version) files last year I think, perhaps if he still has them he could forward them to you, they may be of some use??
Cheers
